The northern waterthrush (Parkesia noveboracensis) and the Louisiana waterthrush visit the New York City area during spring and fall migrations. It is always a joy to see them, but I admit I am not very good at diffentiating between them. The northern waterthrush has a more streaky chest than the Louisiana, and the eyebrows are somewhat narrower at the back.
