Yellow-rumped warblers (Setophaga coronata) are some of the most beautiful migrating warblers we see in New York. They are also called myrtles and, affectionately, “butter butts.” They flitter around in the trees, looking for insects.

There have been so many yellow-rumps migrating through the New York area in the fall of 2021. These warblers were seen at Fort Tilden beach and Green-Wood Cemetery.
