Prairie warblers (Setophaga discolor) visit the New York area during spring and fall migrations, but until 2024, I wasn’t fortunate enough to photograph one. These are absolutely beautiful birds who live and nest in scrub, eating insects and flicking their tails. Their numbers are currently declining.
