Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx is a treasure for all kinds of birds and beasties, plus some of the most spectacular views in New York City. In the winter of 2018/2019, the park has been home to a pileated woodpecker, a barred owl, white-tailed deer, lots of incredible ducks and so many special birds and animals. Nesting great-horned owls are always a delight to see, and Orchard Beach attracts lots of sandpipers in the spring, summer and fall (I even saw one in the winter).
