Ovenbirds (Seiurus aurocapilla) can be found during spring and fall migration rooting in the leaves for insects. Sometimes I think I’ve spotted a thrush, until I see that stripe across the top of the head (and yes, ovenbirds are smaller). These are delightful warblers, great to watch running around but not interested in posing for photos.
