The 2019 Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden: Singapore
The orchid show at the New York Botanical Garden in 2019 was themed Singapore, and featured the orchid “supertrees” that embody Singapore’s devotion to these beautiful flowers.
Aliceara hybrid. I call these “Underdog” orchids, because the center looks like the cartoon character Underdog.
This year’s Orchid Show video was a true labor of love. I filmed on March 7 and April 3, but editing the footage to a manageable length and trying to identify as many orchids as I could took a very long time! The music, in keeping with the philosophy of the Contemplate This! series (to show beautiful imagery accompanied by beautiful music for a relaxing experience), includes music by Debussy and Satie, plus other music (listed on the description of the video on YouTube and in the credits).
