Least sandpipers (Calidris minutilla) are the smallest of the five small sandpipers known as "peeps." I haven't seen any in Central Park, but I did see three exploring the west rocks at Governors Island on August 6, 2017, and a pair at Muscota Marsh on Aug. 13, 2015. I have seen them on Nickerson Beach on Long Island, and at the Lido Beach Passive Nature Area nearby, in 2023.

The Filming the Feathers video, short but I hope sweet, features music by Carl Heinrich Carsten Reinecke, Octet, Op. 216, performed by the Soni Ventorum Wind Quintet.
